Wrath of the Righteous

The Worldwound tore reality apart when the God Aroden died, murdering the nation of Sarkor and unleashing a ravenous demonic horde into Avistan. Only the quick action of several other nations of knights, barbarians, and heroes gathered within the city of Kenabres stemmed the demon army and contained it within lost Sarkor. For the next century, crusade after crusade tried to defeat the demons only to fail time and time again. Their greatest success, the line of magical artifacts known as Wardstones that stand sentinel along the Worldwound’s border, barely manages to contain the demons. One of the Wardstones housed in the city of Kenabres was cracked in 4692AR by as assault led by none other than Khorramzadeh the Storm King. Though the Wardstone in Kenabres still stands, many scholars fear that it could not withstand a second attack.

The Fourth Crusade, intended to seal the Worldwound once and for all, has limped along for the past 15 years, and finally come to an end. Though there is no shortage of crusaders streaming into Kenabres, the rampant corruption within the city and the endless fight against an unknown foe have led many to wonder if the Worldwound will ever be closed.
