The party enters the underground town of neathol, let by Krell.
The town is full of a strange chimera like people, who whisper as they see us, using our ow voices.
THE RISING SUN SYMBOL IS EVERYWHERE
The party is taken to see Cheif Sull, inside the only two story structure.
Inside, they are asked by a small clerk how they should be introduced. After arguing whether they should be called “The Awesomes” or not, the party finally settles on “The Survivors of Kenabres”
They are taken into the Diaz room, where sullen statues line the pathway, downcast but whole and unmarred.
Chief Sull is a Moleman, with Many Chins. He has3 advisors, a giant crabwoman named Simera, a Turtle-tiger named Hellena, and Krell again, who is a lizard-elf.
The party tells Cheif Sull they must return to the surface.
Qui tells Simera she is beautiful, after Simera gives a speech about how they must not open the gate, and the party is repulsed by her.
Guards are positioned around the party, deciding whether to kill us or not. Windjammer fortunately is super cute and asks, can’t we all just get along,? And, diplomacies us to safety.
Cheif Sull then reveals we are not the first topsiders to enter Neathol.
Lord sir magesty, the top trader in Kenabres enters from a door (lord borgis)! Demands we get him out of there.
Then, Selma emerges from the shadows.
Flashback to Selma havinga strange maybe dream maybe not, were she feels bernards presence, andleaves te party, finding a place too highto climb normaly, and so, uses a power she normally doesn’t have to spider crawl up to it, and follows the passage, until she finds bernard. However, somethingis wrong with him, and he tells selma to run, and then turns and walks to a shadowy woman behind him.
Back to the present, Chi runs over to selmaand picks her up, exclaiming “where have you been??” Selma responds by wrapping herself around Chi’s face.
The party goes back to sayingt hey need to leave, however, they refuse. Then Windjammer gives another rousing speech, which he took from Ghandi, about being the change you want to see in the world. Korgains are the best at diplomacy. Still, The towns tower anddefences againstthe underdark need to be rebuilt, and Telchar steps up to the job.
Cheif Sull then notices the broach of the Deep Delvers that both Wrex and Windjammer are wearing, and asked what happened. Past game events are recalled.
Asks the dwarf we captured what happened, as he recognizes him, though he dwarf has long since gone mad and cannot answer coherently. The Last Deep Delver.
Then, Cheif Sull asks if we are willing to take up the fightto defeat the Worldwound. The “Dependants of Valor”
There are 3 days before we can leave.
Rune points out all the townsfolk are freaks, which offends party, except for Lord Borgis, riding on his back. The partysay’s he’s the only freak here, with his majestic death-centaur form, that smells of musk and a bit too much Axe. Rune says then what’s Selma, with that mask and weirdness, and the party is like WHOA, UNCALLED FOR.
Qui asks the counsel about voice mimicking, leading to a conversation about their chaotic chimerism.
Cheif Sull point to a Mural on the ceiling, which selma starts sketching, particularly the Sarkorites in it, noting their clothing.
Sull explains the first crusade to the party, and the abyss, and how if affected them. And how they outside world treated them upon return. Only the Sarkoites were expecting the hatred, and were prepared.
Finally, he warns us not to wander out of town into the underdark while there, that being a death wish ad all.
Elibor notices the symbol of the dagger and cloak on one of the statues as we leave the diaz chamber, and wonders what THAT’S doing here.
Lord Borgis wants to leave SO BAD.
- 3 DAYS OF SITTING HERE WISHING WE COULD DREAM OUR TROUBLES AWAY -
Brian wanders and heals, looks for library, meditates.
SARKORITES HERE – Krell’s Korgi-spider grandmother (Seer Opalee) talks to Brian, Selma, and Rune (Chi will not take her eyes off Selma in case she disappears again, so is there, also). Reveals many things, including that Simera knows of the Red Dawn.
Chi does not have luck with the followers of
Windjammer makes ALL of the friends. Literally. He now knows the entire town.
Xiang sexes it up with Diarah, who has a face made of tumors and is also a distiller. It is the perfect 3 day relationship.
Qui hunts roaches and sells them in the market.
Elibor gets his roach cart, and as the Demon Doctor starts ‘researching’ a homeless person. When researching, Elibor takes drops his disguise as a decent but shifty person, and hacks apart the chimera-man, discovering there is a difference between internal and external corruption, and that while living and whole, holy water does nothing to them. But in pieces? Hahahahahahaha.
Aravashnial reveals to Rune his obsession with Tree Razor and stopping him. Then, he asks Rune where he met his Eidolon. Rune explains how he woke up on the side of the road in this form, cannot remember, only feels it’s intentions and not it’s words andis losing himself. Wants to be this thing more and more. Arivashnial tells him he knows much of the planes, and has a summon like this of his own. He tells Rune he must find his summons name, to have power over it.
Wrex finds Anivia walking along the shoreline of the underground lake. She tells Wrex about how she met her wife, and how she used to be a theif. Diplomacy Nuzzle!!
Seer Opalie tells Windjammer about how Wrex’s father came through here a while ago, and, as a Korgian, was let through easiy. Gives Windjammer a scroll of rituous blood!
- 3 DAYS HAVE PASSED -
The party returns to Chief Sull! We all kneel, as with a long thin Morninstar tasks us with closing the worldwound, as a requirement of them opening the doors to topside.
The inhabitance of Neathol will fight with us!!!!!
Lord Borgis offers us 1000gp to get back to the surface.
Cheif Sull gives Brian the Morningstar (devine of the 4 gods)!
Selma talks to Simera. Simera says how the Red Dawn is an old name. They are now called the Riftwardens (!!!) Then, as Selma explains she comes from far away, Simera accuses her ancestors of being cowards for fleeing when the worldwound opened instead of fighting it. Selma tries to brand her, but Simera easily slams her to the ground, and yells at Selma for taking light of things she does not understand; For not respecting, and treating this as a childs game.
We then learn Winwag, a resident of Neathol, has left AND IS WITH A VORLESH DAUGHTER.
Sleep for the night.
The cold steel weapons that party took from a tomb last game posses their carriers, causing night terrors, and they wakeup attacking companions. After stopping attack, party gives the weapons to Cheif Sull to destroy.
The party leaves, of the road to Koder Falls, a small village where the door to the surface is.
The closer we get, the more the good alligned characters feel horrible, and our guide starts bleeding from the nose, and we have to cast protect evil on him. Still, he must turn back. Selma, Elibor, and Lord Borgis are unaffected. However, Selma can sense bernard from the distance.
We make it into town, and face initiative.
- INITIATIVE! -
There are dark child like shapes on the tops of the houses throwing rocks at us. The party starts enlarging member,v getting abetter look, and after Brian reaches the top, find the leader in Winwag, whom he tries to banish the possession from, but she says she has chosen this, and it is ineffective. Selma starts screaming at Winwag, asking where her brother is.
Elibor manarges to take one of them into a building
Korgi’s jumping accross rooftops! Dark horror fantasy! Aravashnial starts helping!!!!
We win, selma brands Winwag, the survivors are tied up, Rune starts trying to break down a building, AND THEN THE VOICE IN HIS HEAD TELLS HIM “NOT HERE FOR THIS” AND FORCES HIM TO SIT. Rune freaks out, and unsummons his eidolon. (does he explain to the party at this point what he knows? – unsure.)
We make our way further to the town square. We can now see the door to the surface, Sarkorite made, with the symbol of Iomadae on it.
The symbol is bleeding.
Piles of corpses (villagers) are in circles that Selma recognizes the structure of, with false paladins standing around them, and another pile of corpses. Vorlesh emerges from the shadows, and speechifies at them.
She then, with a glowing crystal around her neck Selma recognizes from her dream, makes a pile of corpses form into a golem. …..bernard…..
- INITIATIVE! -
The false paladin’s start sacrificing themselves themselves in the circles. The party rushes to stop them, as the corpse golem starts attacking them, and Selma in a rage starts firing at the crystal around Vorlesh’s neck. Rune tries to summon without his majestic form, and accidentally summons a dolphin, who in a huff leaves the dry cave and writes a terrible review of Rune on Summon Monster Yelp.
The party is struggling, Chi has been knocked prone from a hit of the Corpse Golem,
And then the last false paladin sacrifices themselves.
The three circles grow brightly, as three Demons emerge from the opened portals. The entire party makes a roll against fear, and Selma, Elibor, and Wrex FAIL. As they run off, the party manages to get Chi up, and Arivashnial creates a protection circle and yells for them to all get inside. Chi gets enlarged by Rune, Windjammer gets knocked down, out, gas fills the cavern, but, with Arivashnial’s help, the party barely manages to survive, cleaving down the delmons & the corpse golem, with the help of Arivashnial’s Archon, and finally slays the Vorlesh daughter.
Selma retrieves the Amulet Vorlesh wore, as it turns a blue color from its red, and she regain’s Bernard.
The door is still corrupted and pulsing evil and bleeding, so, Chiemeka sits for a dedicated week of praying to Iomadae, as the corruption is sucked out. Elibor stays, using his alchemy to keep Chiemeka awake through the entire process.
